United States of America
Overview
When Bessie Traber returned to the US after missionary service in the Philippines, she began a ministry in Philadelphia that focused on children. The Lord had been preparing her for this work of teaching kids, and it blossomed as others joined the Bible Club Movement. A series of classes during and after school drew many; rallies gathered crowds and generated enthusiasm. Very quickly the idea spread out past Philadelphia into other cities and states. One notable development came with the addition of camping facilities that made year-round ministry with children a reality.
Today, BCM is active around the US with camps, Bible clubs, release time classes, campus ministry, correspondence courses and an interest in persons with special needs. Our trained, experienced personnel use a variety of approaches and materials for bringing the good news of God’s love to children and their families, and for providing opportunities for growing in Christ as His disciples. We partner with many volunteers and local churches in this good work, and each year have the privilege of coming alongside thousands of people as they interact with the Lord and His ways.
