God Specializes in Performing the Impossible
Posted on: 04 Dec 2009 at 9:38 am
Just over a year ago, I knelt with a group of our BCM Nepal ministry leaders and missionaries in the middle of a rice paddy to dedicate land for a church building nearby to where a BCM house church was meeting.
It seemed an impossible dream.
Nepal was a Hindu monarchy where building a church was illegal, and there were no funds for construction. God, however, specializes in performing the impossible to accomplish the improbable and realize the inevitable. Our impossible. The world’s improbable. God’s inevitable.
The impossible dream became a miraculous reality. Last year the monarchy was overturned and replaced with a republic; it is now legal to build a church. Where once there were no funds, generous giving from God’s people provided the means for constructing the church. The rice paddy was divinely “upgraded” to a visible hilltop surrounded by a growing neighborhood.
On November 29th, 2009, together with BCM leaders from Sri Lanka, India, Nepal and 180 local believers, I joined in the consecration of BCM Nepal’s first church building, once only a dream and prayer in the middle of a rice paddy but today a light on a hilltop. God’s inevitable.
Blessings,
Marty
